It was finally time to bring our Groupon Getaways European vacation to an end. After waking up at the crack of dawn, we carpooled with our vacation buddies one more time and made our way to the Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport. As we waited for our flight back to JFK Airport in New York City, we grabbed a balanced breakfast of paninis, chocolate filled doughnuts, fruit and cappuccinos. We knew we would eat on the flight, but it was our palate’s way of saying ‘farewell’.

Once we finally boarded the plane (after Joel got selected for a 2nd secondary screening; the first being in France),  we bid arrivederci to Italy and made our way back home.
